Dr. Tolulope O. Olateju, is a registered specialist in Diabetes & Endocrinology. As Medical Director at Zia Medical & Women’s Health Clinic, she brings a holistic view to the practice of medicine and guides our vision for convenient, comprehensive care for patients.
She graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1996 and moved to the United Kingdom in 1999 where she undertook postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Wessex Deanery. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians UK. On completion of her specialist training in the UK she moved to Canada in 2014 to undertake a fellowship in Islet Cell Transplantation at the Clinical Islet Transplant Program, University of Alberta, Edmonton. Dr. Olateju is a Physician Endocrinologist at C-endo Health Clinic since 2016, and will be establishing her practice at Zia Medical & Women’s Health Clinic – SouthTrail, in Fall 2020.
Dr. Olateji believes that great medical care starts with listening, and understanding patients better. Her philosophy is that every patient’s situation is different, and that to address the many barriers to a person’s health, physicians need to be adaptable. Physicians are responsible for ensuring their patients have access to medical care, and have the information, support, or treatment needed to make health decisions that will improve their quality of life. Through this holistic approach, better quality of life and better outcomes for patients can be achieved.
Dr. Olateju is committed to providing the next generations of doctors with the mentorship, skills training, and clinical experience that will help them provide the best medical care. As a specialist in Diabetes and Endocrinology, Dr. Olateju has been involved in multinational trials and other research that will increase knowledge around chronic thyroid and pancreatic conditions, and provide better and diverse treatment options for a patient’s unique health program.
As Medical Director at Zia Medical & Women’s Health Clinic, Dr. Olateju brings forward her personal philosophy of patient care to guide the physician collaboration, patient experience, and clinical environment at Zia. Zia is a place where physicians can be at the top of their game, where patients receive the best quality care, and staff are organized and highly participatory in the patient’s wellness experience.
